The Brand

Another Sect was born from a conviction: that fashion was losing its humanity. In an industry moving faster toward the digital and the disposable, something essential was disappearing - the warmth of a hand, the weight of a story, the presence of a piece that was made for you rather than manufactured at you.

Founded in 2022, Another Sect is a design-led label that works at the intersection of structured tailoring and soft silhouette - where South Asian craft traditions are not preserved as relics but evolved into modern essentials. Each collection is built around the poetry of fusion: clean, urban lines meeting the richness of inherited technique. The result is a wardrobe that is timeless without being static, and intentional without being loud.

We believe in fashion that earns presence through detail, depth, and story. Not through volume. Not through trend. Through the quiet confidence of a piece that was made with complete care.

The Founder

Abdullah Zafar grew up in Rahim Yar Khan - a city in southern Punjab where embroidery is not a craft class but a way of life. He watched women in the community work with thread and fabric the way others worked with language: with fluency, with feeling, and with something passed quietly down through generations. That early immersion did not feel like research. It felt like home.

He went on to study at the Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design - the country’s most rigorous fashion institution - where the language of that childhood became a design philosophy. PIFD sharpened his eye for structure, silhouette, and the discipline that separates good garments from lasting ones. But it was his roots that gave him a reason: to build something that honored where he came from rather than looked away from it.

Abdullah launched Another Sect at 24 with a single, clear frustration: the fashion world was becoming inhuman. Algorithms were replacing instinct. Speed was replacing care. And the artisans - the actual makers, the people whose hands carry decades of knowledge - were being quietly erased from the conversation.

Another Sect was his answer.

The Craft

Every piece in an Another Sect collection is made in collaboration with artisans from southern Punjab, using embroidery techniques that have been passed through families for generations. These are not decorative gestures. They are the structural soul of the work - present in every stitch, every seam, every considered detail.

Our fabrics are hand-selected for their tactile quality and longevity. Our silhouettes are built to carry quiet strength. And our process is slow, on purpose - because the things worth wearing are never rushed.
